The Twin Gods have bestowed some of their magic upon their favoured creatures. The deer in the forest can collect magical powers that give them the ability to alter the appearance of their brethren...

...But sometimes, it can wear out the patience of you and your brethren, especially if you're just browsing through the selection! So, here is something to make picking out the most stylish outfit a little easier (and quicker) for you and your deer. :)

Click the arrows to run through the selection of basic pelt, mask, and antler spells. The text on the right will tell you the common name of each piece.
-Visit the Endless Encyclopedia of TEF Pelts and Sets to see more of these fashionable pieces and even more not shown here :D

Clicking on the spell icons will give you a little hint as to what you need to do to obtain that particular spell ;)

Clicking the bottom right buttons will show you some lovely Endless Forest scenery, or give your deer some floral adornment for those bare antlers.

-------------------------------------------------------

Notes: This project is by no means complete :)

* One or two masks have small sections missing - I'm working on fixing this.

*Special pieces, such as the albino, red, and any Halloween set, are not included (at this time).

*Default Antlers are now available! For creativity purposes, you can rotate through them (and even add them to the spell antlers). Just know that in-game this won't be possible; the Default antlers will match with the pelt. For instance, if you have a Beluga pelt, you will have Beluga default antlers.

* Pieces with asterisks (*) mean that it is not available in game, it's just for fun :)

------------------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------------

Och, Party! what's the point of knowing the names of these pieces if we can't talk???

A valid question! While it is true that your lovely little deer does not possess the vocal capability to specify what it feels like wearing today, you, dear player, can help your frolicking forest friend find its fashion by turning to other players outside the game.

And you will find a great many of them at the Endless Forest Community, a place of Endless (Forest) artistic expression, and not-so-artistic rabble and chat ;)

-Simply log in (use the same user-name/password for your deer in-game)
-create a new blog entry (best to put "set help" somewhere in the title so everyone knows what you need right off)
-politely introduce yourself if you have not already done so (I'll have to try that myself sometime xD)...
-...and just as sweetly explain your desire for such-and-such set pieces for your deer. Be sure to note what your deer's name/pictogram looks like, and where your deer will be waiting.
-Players are generally very gung-ho about helping out others, so you will probably get all the help you need in a short time. Still, patience is a virtue.
-Once your deer has attained the desired set, have a nice frolic with everyone. :D
-Modify your blog post, thanking all parties for helping your deer.

I think I just made my 'Dream Deer'.     Pelt: Magpie     Mask: Real Deer     Antlers: Magpie     Background: Graveyard.   I really hope I will be lucky enough to look like that some day. :)  But first.....my fawn needs to grow up.. -_-  I enjoy being a fawn because you can mess with people and not get in trouble for it. XD  Also most adult deer that I see are just lying down on the ground for hours doing nothing. One of the only things that bug me being a fawn is that you have to reload your appearance every few seconds. Anyway, thanks for this. It helped me picture my 'Dream Deer'. XD

That one is trickier; only users who are playing an older version of the game are able to cast that spell (along with the DotD pieces), so if you need one now you will have to go to the community website and ask for a player to help you.  Usually your chances of finding someone will increase the closer to Halloween it is, but generally there's at least one or two people around who can help at any time.

I always thought the long/grey pelt was a wolf pelt...

Ooh! The butterfly mask is awesome, I hadn't seen tht yet in game. Though it appears to be a Clearwing butterfly, Greta oto

The original artist, Rah-Bop, didn't name the pelt and antlers specifically, but instead called the entire costume "The Long Mask Set", so that's why the pelt and the antlers are named such. :)

Still, it could certainly be interpreted as a wolf pelt for one's role-play needs. I know many players like to see their deer-selves as wolves or other strange creatures ;)

Ahh...I don't really remember xD

I *believe* it is from the Fan antlers, which is part of its set (supposedly). I can't find the original designer of those pieces though, so I can't be sure.

You'll need a better image editor than paint to make it transparent. Some online photoediting websites have it, if you google it. If you really can't find any help, I will be happy to do this for you, if you let me know what combination set you have :)

You can't do it on your own - another must cast the spells on you. Wrangle up a deer or two, and paw the ground next to a spell site (mushroom trees for masks, sleeping deers for pelts, pinecone trees for antlers). Usually they'll get the hint, but if not, cast a spell on them and nod your head and keep pawing at the spellsite. That usually always gets the point across.
Once they start casting spells, shaking/nodding your head will let them know when they've cast the right spell. Once you've got what you need, always say thank you :)

Once you're logged into the Community website (link in the description), the navigation menu is on the left-hand side. Under your account name, you'll see the button "Create New" and the option to post a Blog entry, or a picture.

Does that help? :)

I'm curious if you are still going to update this? If time is an issue, I can gather what you need. Also, it was just announced by a supposed intern of ToT that they will be taking concepts to add to the game....so there's a heads up about that if you weren't aware yet. We're still waiting for M&A to confirm this, though.

The good news is that last month I was able to recover all the files for this I had lost previously (hard drive meltdown nsck in '11 :[ ), and now the tricky part is trying to remember how Flash works xD

The way I put this together is by playing an older version of the game that allowed me to stockpile set pieces into one file, so all I had to do was "sneeze and pose" so to speak, and this ensured that the deer was always in the exact same position, angle, and size for every set piece displayed. However with temporary pelts like the red and white this couldn't really be accomplished, which is why I couldn't include them, along with the flowers. If the game ever really did get new designs, I wouldn't be able to stack them or pose with them so precisely because everything is saved server side on the newer editions (trying to regain the exact same position and size after moving around is almost impossible).

Does that make any sense? xD
So, I can add a couple things, like the zombie and DoTD pelt, but not any newer additions.

I'm good at getting exact positions again, and as for the size it shouldn't be too hard. If I make it too big we could just warp to fit.

in order to get a skin another deer has to sit stationary next to another deer for a short period of time. sadly as a fawn your apearence wears off over time, so if you find something you like you should save it in the "network" section of the menue screen where it says "save current deer apearence" all you gotta do is get someone to give you the skin. it might take a while, or if your luky, get your skin on the first try.

If you're still confused, or want to know more about different skins, antlers, exc., you can read about everything on their very nice website.

I only have had TEF for a litle more than a week and i'm still a little fawn, but I have the peacock pelt, the magpie mask and the space beluga antlers. i love TEF and you might see me if you go on it often, handing out pelts and antlers to other deer. i really hope i can get the great Argus antlers soon.

i'd love to know if you think you've seen me or even if i may have given you something. :)

Hi Luka!
-I haven't been playing much since February, but I hope to back into it soon. :)

It's most easy to recognize deer by the symbols above their heads. If you tell me the name you registered with (what you log into play), I can look up your symbol and keep an eye out for you next time I'm on. We can have a grand time :D

if you tell me what you look like i'll try to keep an eye out for you
